In November 2024, Micro Bird took a major step in commercial bus manufacturing in the USA by acquiring a production facility in Plattsburgh, New York. Just seven months later, the first U.S.-built Micro Bird bus rolled off the line—crafted in a space that was reimagined, optimized, and energized by a shared commitment to excellence.
This milestone reflects more than the start of production. It represents a convergence of experience, agility, and collaboration that positions Micro Bird as a key commercial bus manufacturer in the United States.
Reimaginning a Legacy Space
The Plattsburgh facility had a strong industrial foundation, previously used for transit bus manufacturing. Rather than starting from scratch, Micro Bird built upon that legacy—leveraging local expertise and combining it with our own manufacturing culture.
Our teams worked hand in hand with experienced employees from the region to redesign the space for cutaway commercial bus production. The result: an ultra-efficient plant delivering Micro Bird’s hallmark quality in record time.
